ALG Annual Grand Dinner is to celebrate the flight of the super senior to Germany. The juniors have to pay for RM 60.00 to raise fund for the dinner. This year the dinner was held in Intekma Resort.
The function room looked quite okay, but not so luxury. I was one of the committee in making the dinner a success. However, I just played very minor part in it.
Every committee has his/her own job and I was “technician” for the music. Actually I didn’t think that my help was really needed as there was a real technician there from Intekma Resort.
:( Sigh….. I had missed delicious food, tasty drink, fantastic atmosphere but paid for sixty Ringit. I did eat but just took some “Dim Sum”.
Today is the second day of exam. SOooooo busy. Two days didn’t touch my computer. First two days are still okay. Pure Maths. and Mechanics. However, I couldn’t afford to take them easy. Luckily the tests aren’t as hard as the exercises I did.
Schade! Tomorrow got two “heavy” paper. Physics and Chemistry.Have to burn midnight oil tonight……
After that is German… and AS English… Good luck to all my friend who are having exam and good luck to myself too.
The journey to Pahang takes five hours. We stop at intervals to breath in some fresh air.
Arrival at the office of Mercedes-Benz, Pekan, Pahang at 11.00 a.m.
All the juniors of A-level German programme gather in front of the office to immortalise their sweet memory in the form of picture. In the middle is Madam Maria, our beloved German lecturer and the handsome German man (from right 3) is the person-in-charge to explain us what does the Mercedes-Benz Company do in Malaysia.
Do you know who is the tallest guy on the left? Indeed, his status is as tall as he is. He is the last year national public speaking (English) top five candidate, the Champion for German Speech Contest (Junior) in Universiti Putra Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and the president of “Der Club” (the club for A-level German Programme) 2008.
@The scene during the last practice before our drama presentation – A Good Man is hard to find began.
On the left was our protagonist - the grandmother meanwhile on the right was our antagonist – the Misfit.
@Hey! What are you doing?
Some fun before the drama started: The narrator ‘suddenly’ become the Misfit as if he were in trance and the grandmother ‘suddenly’ could walk upright and held her stick on her hand as if she were berserk with anger.
@Hey! Don’t run away! Have a photo please!
I am so happy that my class drama presentation was a success though we didn’t win. Everyone had worked so hard and tried every endeavours, especially the Misfit:
Hereby I would like to dedicated my thanks to him as he had helped our class to win an honour – the best actor honour.
I still have some regret as I don’t have the photos or video of the drama presentation. However, that’s not a problem, everything will be saved in this blog until the eternity.
Night market... It was probably the place that I had most frequently visited to since I was in Shah Alam four months ago.
Speaking of night market, one would thought of local delicacies such as nasi lemak, roti Jong, murtabak, nasi ayam percik, laksa, cendol, soy bean milk, delicious dessert as well as fresh fruits and vegetables.
Besides thinking of food, one would think of people, of course! One had to walk from shoulder to shoulder in night market due to the crowded condition. The main attraction in the night market were the great varieties of food and the cheap price. It was similar to flea market other than the fact that we could only find food in it.
It was dusk when I walked out from my hostel. I could feel the heat from the afternoon. I took slow strokes on my way to the night market. The air was polluted by the exhaust fumes from the vehicles which were also on the way to the night market.
Contrary to my past few visits, tonight's trip really widened my view. I had encountered new phenomenon in the night market. There was a couple of busker at one corner of the market, two kids and an adult sitting on the ground along the hawker stalls. The latter were *begging for money.
*It was just merely my guess, I hereby apologise if I coiled the term wrongly.
In fact, the pair of busker could sing very well. However, it was inappropriate for kids to be alone in the night market, sitting on the ground with a case in front of them. First, it was the concern of their safety and second, what other people would think of them?
Actually, I could rule out any skepticism about what I claimed to see tonight by showing the photographs of them. However, I did not take the photographs as I realised that I had no right to take their photographs without their concerns.
“The Dark Knight” is an interesting, blockbusting and must-watch movie in the year 2008. This movie is co-starring by ‘heavy-weight’ actors such as Michael Caine (as Alfred) --- an Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actor in the movie “Hannah and Her Sisters” and a two-time Academy Award winner. Another one is the popular actor in the drama “Brokeback Mountain” by Ang Lee, Heath Ledger (as the Joker), who was honoured with an Academy Award nomination. Last but not least, the character District Attorney Harvey Dent is starred by Aaron Eckhart, who has earned Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award nominations for his role as an unapologetic tobacco lobbyist in 2005’s “Thank You for Smoking”.
“The Dark Knight” is directed by Christopher Nolan, together with his crew members: Jonathan Nolan, who is responsible for screenplay, David S. Goyer, who is responsible for the story and Bob Kane, who is responsible for the characters. The genres of this movie are action, crime and thriller. It is first released at 18 July 2008 in United States of America. Batman (alter ego Bruce Wayne), Lieutenant Gordon, and the newly appointed District Attorney Harvey Dent work together and successfully fight off most of the crime in the city of Gotham. Their superiority is being challenged when a crime mastermind known as the Joker appears and put the Gotham city into chaos.
Bruce Wayne, the billionaire who owns the Wayne’s Enterprise secretly funds the Research and Development on the Batmobile (Batman’s vehicle) and Batsuit. He gets his Batman’s prototypes and models from Lucius Fox. After the fall of the major crime organization in Gotham, the Joker kills the remnants of the bosses one by one and forms his own group in order to terrify the citizens of Gotham and put the city into chaos. District Attorney Harvey Dent, also regarded as the White Knight of the Gotham, a man who has bright future, has become the target of the Joker to put into chaos and sinful life in order to achieve his master plan. Lieutenant Gordon, who plays the role of the chief police officer, has also contributed to the twist of the fate of Harvey. Rachel Dawes, the lover of Harvey, is the main force for Harvey to continue his life and his job as the White Knight of Gotham city (lawyer).
The visual effects of the movie and the make-ups of the characters are really amazing and breathtaking. For an instance, the audiences really hold their breaths when they watch the scene where the truck driven by the Joker is flipped over by Batman. Besides, the detonation of timer-bomb at the scenes where Harvey and Rachel are being held hostages and the bomb blast which destroys Gotham General Hospital are stunning and hair-raising. The fearsome, disheartening make-ups of the Joker and Two-Face clearly depict the evil nature of the characters. The soundtrack also complement to the anxious and tense environment. The sound effects are so successful that they describe every single scenes of the movie colourfully. For examples, there are the fighting scenes, the explosion scenes and so on.
The big moment in this story is when Harvey and Rachel are being held hostages in two separate buildings where there are tonnes of explosive surround them. This put Batman into his predicament whether to choose to save Rachel or Harvey. One is the person he loves and the other is the important person for Gotham city. This incident ultimately creates a twist for the plot of the story.
In a nut shell, I would say that “The Dark Knight” is a worth-watching movie that is suitable for the categories between young teens and adults. I do not recommend this movie to children and those who have health problems as it contains violence and extreme action, e.g. Batman beaten up the Joker in the lock-up, bomb blasts, killings and so on.
Personally, I like the movie very much especially the plot of the story. The director Christopher Nolan arranges the plot in such a way that: Batman, Lieutenant Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent complement with each other to fight off crimes in Gotham city. However, when the Joker ruins one of them the co-operations among them no longer exist. They work individually. For example, in the operation to arrest the Joker Gordon’s SWAT teams mistake that the hostages are the clown guards. In order to prevent the hostages from being hurt, Batman has to stop the SWAT teams as well as the Joker’s men before he confronts with him alone. This incident makes the heroic traits of Batman more distinctive.
One thing that I did not like about the movie is the ending. Batman ends up being the culprit in the eyes of the citizens of Gotham but not Two-Face. The citizens of Gotham choose the White Knight of Gotham (Harvey Dent) to be their hero but not the Dark Knight (Batman).
Yeah! I'm so happy as my blog has been unlocked. I can write blog again!
Yesterday morning, the weather was so good that the sun shone brightly from the cloudless sky and the wind was blowing lightly. It was the sign of the good weather for that day. Sawing that my hair was long, I decided to go for a haircut with my friend.
We went by bus. There was a gang of guys that smoked and chatted. We waited half-an-hour for the bus to arrived. Before that the atmosphere was casual, soothing and friendly.
However, when the bus was approaching from far, all people got ready from their place. Some of them were in half -stand position and hands grabbed the bags as if a predator poised to make a plucky spring to its prey. Within a few seconds, the door of the bus was clump with a pile of meats (people)!!! That's the Malaysian's culture:(
After having haircut, we went to quench our thirst in "Pak Li", a restaurant well-known for its "Cendol" (a kind of dessert). My friend was rushing for time so he went back first. Meanwhile, I continue to loiter in some of the market.
When I had finished my shopping and went out from the shop, I realised that it was raining cats and dogs. So, I was caught in the thunderstorm. I only reached my hostel at 6 o'clock p.m.
Ah...I can't afford to write anymore! Because I am so sleepy...
Actually I wanted to post this blog on that day. However, unfortunately my blog had been locked since 7 October as it was accidentally being labelled as spam blog.
That day after finished the Ko-PLN aerobics exercise, my friends and I went to have our dinner at the restaurant near our hostel. The weather after the rain was cool and clear. We chose to sit in the open-air corner of the restaurant. The business was good that day. So, we had to wait for quite a while for the food to arrived.
Unfortunately, soon after the food had arrived, the authority was fogging (spraying mosquitos repellent in the form of mist). Thus, we had to bear with the smell and while having our dinner.
What happened next? Ah...the next scene was vague...as the incident was two days ago.
It was a secret shared by very few, precisely so that I could inform the revolutionaries of what Torres was doing in the town and of what he was planning each time he undertook a rebel-hunting excursion. So it was going to be very difficult to explain that I had him right in my hands and let him go peacefully -alive and shaved.
A little more lathers here, under his chin, on his Adam's apple, on this big vein. How hot it is getting! Torres must be sweating as much as I. But he is not afraid. He is a calm man, who is not even thinking about what he is going to do with the prisoners this afternoon. On the other hand I, with this razor in my hands, stroking and re-stroking this skin, trying to keep blood from oozing from these pores, can't even think clearly. Damn him for coming, because I'm a revolutionary and not a murderer. And how easy it would be to kill him. And he deserves it. Does he?
I'm sure that one solid stroke, one deep incision, would prevent any pain. He wouldn't suffer. But what would I do with the body? Where would I hide it? I would have to flee, leaving all I have behind, and take refuge far away, far, far away. But they would follow until they found me.
"They told me that you'd kill me. I came to find out. But killing isn't easy. You can take my word for it." And he headed on down the street.
Review:
The barber in the town was facing a dilemma whether to let his enemy, Captain Torres go, sound and alive.
He could become the hero of his people by taking away Captain Torres life, which was just under his razor blade. However, his conscience told him that he was just a revolutionist, not a murderer. Besides, he did not want his reputation as a good barber as well as his professional ethics in his job to be spoilt by the murder.
He realised that Captain Torres was an executioner and he was just only a barber. Each person has his own place in the scheme of things. That's right. His own place.
Mutualism is the relation between two different species of organisms that are interdependent; each gains benefits from the other.Below are some examples:
The flower provides nectar to the Hummingbird meanwhile the Hummingbird helps in pollination.
The lichen consists of fungus and algae. Fungus provides shelter meanwhile algae provides food. They cannot survive without each other.
On the earth, mutualism is not only occurred between animal-animal or animal-plant, but it also occurs among human being. As the saying goes: "No man is an island". Thus we cannot deny that the human are not interdependent.
Lets begin with the human relation - friendship. What is the fundamental thing that makes two people become loyal friends. It is their trait.
For example, you will see two best friends always be together no matter where they go. Have you ever wonder why they are so devoted to each other? It is because they have common interests, I.e. they have same favourite clothes, same hobby etc.
If I were asked to choose a word to describe friendship, I would say "selfish". If you do not have something that is valuable to a person, he/she can never be your friend. They are only acquaintance.
What do we need to maintain a friendship? Of course, we need to complement each other. If only one side offer, and the other side do nothing, I am sure the friendship is going to collapse sooner or later.

Ah Don, who always daydreamed to become rich, misunderstood that Sasa was the daughter of the billionaire in Hong Kong. So, he decided to pursue after her. Running out of ideas to draw her comic strip, Sasa started a date with Martin in order to seek for inspiration for her romantic love-story comic strip.
In his effort to pursue Sasa, Ah Don apologised to Sasa for his ungentle act in the restaurant last time. A few days later, he pretended to be abandoned by his girlfriend to get her sympathy. His plan went smooth until he knew that his friend, Martin was on date with Sasa. In order to get his "first pail of gold" (translation - 第一桶金), he sowed discord between Martin and Sasa. Eventually, they broke out.
Meanwhile, the relationship between Zhi Yin and Ka Yan was still vague. Ka Yan always helped him to do housechores, i.e. paying electric bills, water bills and so on. But, Zhi Yin always went out with his group of friends and Ka Yan followed behind. She was more like his follower than his girlfriend.
On 7th of August, both the couples met under the Tree of Wish (translation - 愿望树), which known to have power to grant couples who met under it true loves. So, they fomally become couples. This was indeed a good news for them but not for Ah Don. It was because he betrayed Martin so that he could date with Sasa. However, he could not concealing the truth forever.
When Martin knew the truth, he was so mad that left the group DDMK. Actually Sasa was not serious with Ah Don. When she knew that it was Ah Don who sowed discord between Martin and her, she decided to make his life hard. By the way, she could get inspiration to draw her comic strip.
