50 reasons why you are proud to be JPA’s scholar.

1. Public Service Department scholarships are probably the most prestigious scholarships in Malaysia.

2. PSD only offers scholarships to 2,000 students for overseas studies.

3. There are more than fifteen thousand applicants for the scholarships.

4. You score better than others in SPM (equivalent to O-level) (max. 70 points for academic excellence).

5. You do better than others in the interview (max. 10 points for interview).

6. You are more active than others in co-curricular activities (max. 10 points for co-curricular activities).

7. You have economical advantages (max. 10 points for family economic background).

8. You have more general knowledge than others (it is been tested during interview).

9. Almost all Malaysian top-scorers consider PSD’s scholarships before they turn to other scholarships.

10. You don’t have to study Form Six (equivalent to A-level).

11. You graduate faster than others (actually it depends on the programme you’ve applied to, Form Six takes 1.5 year).

12. You future is brighter.

13. You can speak competent English (most candidates fail due to low English proficiency).

14. You will get foreign university degree.

15. You chance to get a job shortly after graduation is higher.

50. You are luckier than anyone else (many top-scorers didn’t get the scholarships even though they are perfect).
